Ubisoft has pulled its online-only racing game The Crew from sale due to“Upcoming server infrastructure and licensing restrictions”. Those who already own the game can still play it for now, but the servers will shut down on March 31, 2024.
Ubisoft isa statement“We know thatThis may be disappointing for players who still enjoy the game, but due to the upcoming server infrastructure and licensing restrictions, it has become a necessity.
The post continued: “Retiring a game, especially our first, is not something we take lightly. Our goal remains to provide players with the best action-driven gaming experience possible, and to achieve that goal, we will continue to contribute to The Crew 2 and the recently launched The Crew Motorfest offer new content and support.
While it’s sad to see a game taken down, 2024 will mark 10 years since The Crew first launched on PC, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. Ubisoft also released the latest entry in the series, The Crew Motorfest, in September this year.
