UK inflation slowed to 3.9% year-on-year in November, reaching its lowest level since September 2021. In October, inflation was still at 4.6%. This slowdown is notably due to the fall in fuel prices.
This level is lower than the expectations of analysts, who expected a drop to 4.3%.
“Inflation has fallen again to its lowest level in more than two years. However, prices still remain well above the pre-war level in Ukraine,” said the chief economist of the National Office of statistics (ONS) at the PA Media agency.
