Ukraine has complained about slow and insufficient arms shipments from the European Union. “The EU is accommodating to Ukraine, but it is not giving the weapons we asked for,” Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podoliak wrote on Twitter on Saturday. In addition, the delivery of the weapons takes too long. «Ukraine needs weapons. Not in a month. Now,” demanded Podoliak.

Ukraine needs more heavy weapons like tanks, air defenses and planes to defend against the ongoing Russian attacks.

Ukraine has been defending itself against Russian attacks for more than seven weeks. Last week, the EU announced that it would allocate an additional EUR 500 million to supply arms and equipment to the Ukrainian armed forces. This increases the funds available to 1.5 billion euros.

The funds are to be used to finance personal protective equipment, first aid kits and fuel, as well as weapons for defense purposes. Kyiv had presented the West with concrete demands for heavy weapons such as tanks, artillery, air defense and aircraft.
