After months of arm wrestling between professionals in the tourist transport sector and the government sectors affected by their application file, mainly related to the postponement of the repayment of bank debts until the Corona pandemic crisis is overcome, this file is moving towards a solution, after the meeting of the professionals concerned with Faouzi Lekjaa, the minister delegate in charge of the budget, and the representative bodies of the insurance sectors. and the banks, where they obtained the promise to solve their problems.

Lakjaa was able to bring tourism transport professionals together for dialogue with the heads of the Professional Association of Banks and the Professional Association of Financial Companies, after they had not been involved in the dialogue sessions which brought together transport professionals. tourism with the officials of the Ministry of Transport and Tourism, even if the professionals consider them as “the basis of the problem”.

In addition to the points which caused tensions between the professionals of tourist transport and the administrations concerned and pushed them to vigils and sit-ins which lasted almost two months, the problem of the high rate of loans for the purchase of vehicles, which amounts to 18%, was raised in the meeting, because it does not benefit from “leising”; This is what Mohamed Bamansour, secretary general of the National Federation of Tourist Transport in Morocco, estimated “a very large number for companies operating in this sector”.

And the same spokesperson went on to say: “If this initiative had taken place from the start, we would not have experienced the problems that have exhausted us for two years, and pushed us to do a sit-in for more a month and a half. »

Tourist transport professionals expect the expanded meeting organized by Fawzi Lakjaa to yield positive results in their favor in the coming days, as the representative bodies of the banking and insurance sector have asked them to submit notes concerning their demands in order to to settle them.

In addition to reducing the price of vehicle purchase loans and postponing the payment of debts incurred by tourist transport entrepreneurs due to the Corona virus pandemic, the representatives of the professionals also raised the question of the renovation of the tram station, where they demanded the integration of tourist transport in this government-supported project that benefits professionals in the taxi, bus and truck sector.

The Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget promised the tourism transport professionals to continue the dialogue sessions with the rest of the parties concerned until solutions to their outstanding problems are found. What caused their satisfaction was expressed by Muhammad Bamansur saying, “We are relieved to have felt the seriousness in handling our application file, and for the first time a meeting of this size has taken place”, adding “Today we were treated fairly, and we believe our problem is moving towards a solution.
