Leon Draisaitl’s 36th goal of the season may not be enough for a win with the Edmonton Oilers. For Nico Sturm, despite two assists, the next bankruptcy with San Jose is set. Tim Stützle, on the other hand, remains pointless but victorious with the Ottawa Senators.

Boston Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark was the hero of his team’s 3-1 win at the Vancouver Canucks. In addition to 26 saves, the 29-year-old Swede also managed the rare feat of scoring a goal as a goalkeeper. When the score was 2-1, the Canucks took their goaltender off the ice in favor of a sixth field player, but the Canadians lost the puck to Ullmark, who, from his goal, quickly threw the game device over the entire ice into the opponent’s empty goal to make it 3-1 . It was only the 13th goal by a goaltender in NHL history, most recently accomplished by Pekka Rinne in 2020.

Leon Draisaitl was able to score his 36th goal of the season, but in the end lost with the Edmonton Oilers almost 5:6 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, bottom of the league. The Canadians equalized a 0:4 deficit to make it 4:4, before Jack Roslovic scored twice for Columbus and put him in front decisively. Top player with four points (two goals, two assists) was once again Edmonton’s Connor McDavid.

Nico Sturm contributed two templates to 1: 1 and 2: 2. Ultimately, however, he had to admit defeat with the San Jose Sharks against the Chicago Blackhawks 3:4 in a penalty shootout. Switzerland’s Philipp Kurashev was the only successful shooter in the shootout to become a match-winner for the Blackhawks, who didn’t have superstar Patrick Kane on the roster due to an upcoming trade.

Moritz Seider suffered a 3-0 defeat with the Detroit Red Wings against ex-champion Tampa Bay Lightning, in which goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy was the man of the game with 45 saves.

The only German player was Tim Stützle, who did not play a part in the goal himself, but won 5-2 with the Ottawa Senators against the Montreal Canadiens.
