Fan Expo New Orleans (formerly known as Comic Con New Orleans) is an annual convention dedicated to comic books, fantasy, sci-fi, horror, anime, and video games. Every January, tens of thousands of fans flock to the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center to meet actors, directors, comic book writers, and artists.
The list of Fan Expo New Orleans attractions include autograph sessions, photo ops, panel discussions, comic artists battles, “How To” workshops, and cosplay competitions. The large show floor is packed with vendors offering
costumes, books, video games, toys, and collectibles.
Past guests of Fan Expo New Orleans included Jason Momoa, Stan Lee, Sean Maher, Chris Evans, William Shatner, Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, Jeremy Renner, Stephen Amell, Norman Reedus, Neal Adams, Michael Rosenbaum, Matt Ryan, Jewel Staite, Laura Vandervoort, Tom Welling, Jason Faunt, Joe Flanigan, and Jason David Frank.
One of the most popular events of the convention is Fan Expo Cosplay Craftsmanship Cup. Thousands of cosplayers show off their craftsmanship skills and compete for cash prizes. The fun three-day family-friendly attractions run from 4 to 9 pm on Friday, from 10 am to 7 pm on Saturday, and from 10 am to 5 pm on Sunday.
