YG Entertainment has announced that the six members of iKON They will leave the agency.
On December 30, YG Entertainment released the following statement announcing iKON’s departure:
Hello, this is YG Entertainment.
We inform you that after a long discussion with the iKON members (Kim Jinhwan, Bobby, Song Yunhyeong, Goo Junhoe, Kim Donghyuk, and Jung Chanwoo) about their future activities, out of respect for others’ opinions, we have agreed to end our exclusive contract. after the expiration of your contract period.
We sincerely thank iKON, who has been with us as one of our agency artists until now. We look forward to his future activities in a wide variety of fields, and we will be cheering you on.
In addition, we also thank the iKONIC [fans de iKON] who were with us on the iKON trip. We ask that you continue to provide members with your continued interest and encouragement as they prepare for a fresh start.
iKON first debuted as a seven-member group under YG Entertainment in 2015. In 2019, the group’s then-leader BI left iKON and the agency.
