UN Resolution on Israeli-Palestinian Conflict: A Call for Ceasefire and Humanitarian Aid

Today marks 22 days since the start of the Israeli-Palestinian war, and the UN General Assembly passed a resolution once morest the Israeli-Hamas war. 120 countries supported the resolution and 12 countries opposed it. The resolution was introduced under the leadership of Jordan. 45 countries including India abstained from voting. The resolution calls for an immediate ceasefire and the removal of obstacles to the delivery of aid to those in Gaza.

India once more expressed deep concern at the killing of civilians in the Israel-Hamas conflict at the United Nations. India also asked both sides to refrain from violence. Indian representative Yojana Patel also demanded that countries behave responsibly. India reiterated its position in the UN General Assembly which was convened to discuss the conflict. There should be a two-state solution between the two countries. India has demanded the release of the Israeli citizens held hostage by Hamas on terror attacks in Israel. The Indian representative also said that the efforts of the international community to bring aid to Gaza will be supported.
