The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan (OSHA) revealed that 6,250 people have been affected by heavy rains and floods in Kassala, White Nile and South Kordofan states, since the start of the rainy season last June.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan, in a statement issued yesterday, stated that emergency shelter, non-food relief supplies and food assistance are the priority needs of affected families in Kassala, eastern Sudan.
The statement stated that the intersectoral coordination group in the region met two days ago, and agreed with the sectors to conduct registration and verification with the affected people, and to provide an emergency response.
