UNAM. It will continue with a hybrid format for back to school in 2022

The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), in charge of Enrique Graue, reported that his back to class, scheduled for the Monday, January 31st, it will be made of hybrid way to avoid contagion of Covid-19.

“Teaching at the beginning of the year will continue to develop in hybrid form in the different study plans, “said the institution through a statement.

He expressed that the epidemiological traffic light in green in most of the territory, the conditions for the return to university activities at the beginning of the year 2022 will remain as they were carried out until before the start of the holiday period in December last.

He added that the academic-administrative activities will be carried out with the capacity required by the different agencies, ensuring the entry of staff at staggered schedules and in observance of all the health measures that have been disclosed in advance. The use of face masks will have character required in all closed spaces of the University.

In addition, he specified that the teaching activities (practical and theoretical), research and dissemination of culture, will be carried out with the reduced capacity previously approved by the technical and internal councils and by the Cultural Diffusion Council.

He indicated that in accordance with the conditions of the evolution of the pandemic, and prior to the start of the next semester cycle, the institution will promptly announce any modification to the university regulations already published.

This Tuesday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador made a call to universities and higher level schools to return as soon as possible to face-to-face classes, given the refusal of some institutions to return to the classrooms due to the increase in infections of COVID-19.

“I call on the universities again because they have already passed, there are many universities that do not return to face-to-face classes. I am making the call respectfully, because nothing replaces face-to-face classes, “he said from during the morning conference at the National Palace.
