Fatorda: Mumbai City FC won the ISL Shield by defeating Goa by five goals to three at their home ground. The team has won the shield with two matches left in the league. This is the second time Mumbai have won the ISL Shield. Mumbai are unbeaten so far in the season.

Goa took the lead in the fifth minute through Nova Sadoi. But Mumbai hit back in the 18th minute through Greg Stewart. Mumbai took the lead through Pereira Diaz in the 40th minute. But this time Goa caught up through Brandon Fernandes in the 42nd minute. Mumbai got back in front two minutes later through Greg Stewart.

There was no shortage of attacks from either side in the second half. In the 70th minute, the referee awarded a penalty in favor of Mumbai after the ball hit Anwar Ali in the box. Laliansula Changthe scored Mumbai’s fourth goal in the 71st minute after hitting the kick into the net. Mumbai completed the scoring in the 77th minute through Vikram Singh. Brison Fernandes scored the third goal in the 84th minute to ease Goa’s deficit.

Mumbai secured the shield by scoring 46 points from 18 games including 14 wins and four draws. Goa is at the fifth position with 27 points from so many matches.
