Under the auspices of Putin.. Assad and Erdogan will meet in Tashkent soon

Elaf from Beirut: Turkey’s move towards normalizing relations with Damascus, in addition to reducing the danger of Kurdish terrorism on the country’s borders, could open the way for Turkish factories, industries and the private sector to enter the Syrian market and open a new chapter in relations between the two countries. Meanwhile, news appears that Ankara and Damascus are trying to provide a platform for a meeting with Bashar al-Assad and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Uzbekistan.

According to the Iranian “Rahbard Contemporary” website, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced in an unprecedented statement his meeting with his Syrian counterpart, and announced that the solution to the Syrian crisis lies in a settlement between the opposition and the legitimate Syrian government. After a decade of conflict in the Levant, the Iranian website sees in this news “a tacit acknowledgment of the wrong strategy of countries opposing the legal system in Syria in supporting the opposition and multinational terrorists, a wrong policy that Ankara seems to be trying to correct and replace with a strategy to fight terrorism in northern Syria.”

The Iranian website adds: “Perhaps the first step on the way to reforming previous policies and normalizing relations between Damascus and Ankara is the meeting between Erdogan and Assad that could be held in Uzbekistan soon.”

According to the Turkish media and press, Dogu Brynsk, leader of the Turkish Homeland Party and a close associate of Erdogan, will head to Syria at the head of a political diplomatic delegation and meet Assad. This trip seeks to achieve two strategic goals in the relations between the two countries: first, joint cooperation in combating terrorism in northern Syria; Second, the return of Syrian refugees to their country. However, the visit appears to have another important purpose. According to the unofficial announcement of some sources, if the result is positive, “the leaders of the two countries are likely to meet on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting in Uzbekistan. Apparently, Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the presidents of Turkey and Syria to attend the upcoming meeting of the Shanghai Organization in Uzbekistan in preparation for a meeting between My opponent yesterday,” according to the Iranian website.

The site added: “Erdogan is pursuing a policy of normalizing relations with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Israel and Syria to ease the pressure of his opponents.” Some analysts believe that Turkey is pursuing a policy of freezing tensions and normalizing relations with countries in the region for a greater purpose. The Turks have been competing with Greece, Egypt and the Zionist regime for access to Mediterranean resources for years, but due to the type of aggressive politics, there was no peaceful way to ease tensions and protect their interests.

It seems that Ankara has taken a big step towards expanding its influence in the Mediterranean by attracting the attention of Cairo and Tel Aviv and seeking to extract gas resources in this region and enter the energy markets. A policy that appears to have paved a new chapter in the gas disputes in the Mediterranean.
