“Taj El-Din” said, in a phone call to the “Last Word” program, broadcast on the “ONE” satellite channel, today, Monday, that we have no evidence that this fever is called a fever of unknown origin, pointing out that what is remarkable about the phenomenon is the large number of infected people. , which led to a state of legitimate fear and panic.
He explained that this fever is a viral fever called “dengue fever” that is produced through the “mosquito vector” mechanism, which is the diagnosis that has arrived so far, continuing: “The type of mosquito is known, and it is an Egyptian mosquito, and it is present, but what is new is the infection of a large number at one time.”
He stressed that the reasons for the rapid spread of infections are due to two things: the first is high temperatures, and the second is stagnant water pools of sewage or fresh water as a form of water storage, which causes an abundance of mosquitoes, as this leads to mosquitoes transmitting the disease from an infected person to another.
He added that the “dengue fever” virus is similar in its behavior to other viruses, as it is possible for a person to be infected with it without showing symptoms, and the mosquito remains a carrier of the disease and transmits it to another person, which leads to an outbreak of the disease, especially since some villages witness family gatherings in one place and this leads to infection A large number.
And he pointed out that the symptoms of the disease are generally represented in a high temperature significantly up to 38-39 degrees Celsius, and severe cracking of the bones, which are treated with paracetamol, and it is not recommended to take any other type of fever reducers or seek antibiotics.
