Domestic wealth, that word that comes to our mind when we talk about chicken and other types of birds that we depend on in our daily food. Not only as a source of protein, but also as a staple in the economy of many countries.

Poultry and its impact on the local market

Poultry is not just a chicken that we buy, but it is part of a long production chain that starts from the farm and ends on our tables. Prices play a decisive role in determining the nature of this chain and how poultry is available to the consumer.

When talking about white chicken, we find that it constitutes a large part of the Egyptian family’s consumption. With prices rising in general, the price of white chicken varies between the farm and the market, as it is available at 64 pounds in the farm and reaches 71 pounds in the market.

As for the sasso and baladi chicken, we find that the prices have increased slightly. Sasso is available for 104 pounds in farms, but it reaches 110 pounds in markets. Mother poultry is characterized by prices starting from 55 pounds up to 63 pounds in the markets.

With regard to chicks, prices seem somewhat stable, as white chicks are available at 15 pounds, sasso at 9 pounds, and baladi at 6.50 pounds.
