With the oxcarts in Dragon’s Dogma 2 you can cover long distances much faster. They are Part of fast travel in the game and cost comparatively little. We’ll tell you how you can get an ox cart and how quickly it will get you to your destination.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Unlock Oxcart in Vernworth
To unlock the oxcarts you have to walk to Vernworth. The city is located directly behind the first town of Mallow. Go north there. Shortly before the city gate you will find a wooden post with a small bell and a plaque.
The NPC there will talk to you and give you a small quest. Note that the quest within a certain time window needs to be done. You can then use the fast travel with the cart.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Call and use ox carts
You can only find ox carts in certain places in the game world. Larger cities in particular such as Vernworth, Melve, Bakbattahl and Ruhestadt offer you corresponding stations. With a bit of luck you’ll find them also on well-known travel routes.
Often there is already a cart ready and you can get in straight away. The first interactive maps for Dragon’s Dogma 2 are now available, which show you important locations on the map.

If there is no NPC on site, you can interact with the small board and summon an ox cart. Depending on the route, the journey only costs you a few hundred coins and starts as soon as you sit down. However, if you meet a driver on an out-of-town route, prices may vary and be higher.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Oxcarts as a good alternative to travel stones
Travel Stones cost up to 10,000 gold in Dragon’s Dogma 2 and are therefore only limited for fast travel to recommend. It is much cheaper to use ox carts. However, there are a few things to consider here. The oxcart only sets off once you have sat down. Now you can Enjoy the ride or take a nap make. With a bit of luck, you’ll drive all night and reach your destination the next day. The journey only takes a few seconds for you.
Unfortunately, the reality is often different. As soon as you decide to take a nap, you may be ambushed. Then it’s time to stop the cart and all opponents flee to beat before continuing. With the right equipment, this should only take a few minutes and is still faster than walking.
