COMMUNITY. Last Friday, October 27, the second edition of the Manufacturing of Justinian origin awards took place. The event led by the Just’En Art organization in Saint-Justin was an opportunity to unveil the 5 2023 recipients.
The recipients are selected for the quality of their work, as well as their influence in the Saint-Justin community and elsewhere. They are located in 4 distinct categories: Agri-food and well-being, Artistic creation, Natural and built heritage, as well as Personality and notable figure.
Les Eaux Saint-Justin
In the Agri-food and well-being category, we first find Nicole Lelièvre for Les Eaux Saint-Justin. Since 1994, Nicole Lelièvre has continued the development of the company with her team, as well as her two sons who joined the ranks in 2008. Nicole Lelièvre has done everything possible to exploit this water source while respecting the resource. and the environment. Bottled directly at the source and delivered in containers made in Saint-Justin, the Eaux Saint-Justin company is an ecological choice.
Monsieur Champignons’ oyster mushrooms
Secondly, in the Agri-food and well-being category, Patrick Lamy and Marie-Josée Roy for the company Monsieur Champignons won the prize. In operation since 2018, the Saint-Justin company produces fresh mushrooms in their greenhouses dedicated to cultivation. They produce several varieties, including their flagship product: oyster mushrooms. This fresh and processed product is distributed in several points of sale in Louiseville and can be found in several restaurants in Trois-Rivières and Shawinigan.
Stained glass window of the coat of arms of Saint-Justin
As for the Artistic Creation category, the prize is awarded to Ginette Clément for the creation of the stained glass window of the municipality’s coat of arms. For the past two years, the stained glass window in question has been visible in the municipal council meeting room, behind the office of the mayor and his councilors. In 1999, Ginette Clément developed a passion for stained glass. Over the last 24 years, she has carried out numerous private and corporate contracts. A well-known artist in Saint-Justin, former mayor François Gagnon asked him to create this stained glass window in 2020.
The garden of France and Jacques Philibert
In the Natural and Built Heritage category, we find France and Jacques Philibert for their garden project. This began 45 years ago with the planting of fruit trees. Over the years, they have created an estate with various horticultural arrangements, all born from their common passion. Over the years, they have held several events in their landscaped garden, such as public country tours and demonstrations offered by artisans.
Annie Gagnon, involved with children
The prize in the Personality and notable figure category is given to Annie Gagnon for her contribution to the dissemination of the arts to 1st and 2nd year children in Saint-Justin. She makes them work with techniques similar to those of famous artists. Annie Gagnon offers projects to children by working with recycled materials collected: flowers like Mr. Van Goh, Inuit-style drawings of animals, birds inspired by the work of Mr. Riopel and many others.
The Manufacturing of Justinian origin seal was implemented in 2022 by Just’En Art, an organization founded by residents of Saint-Justin. The award of this prize is a guarantee of quality and authenticity. This initiative, more symbolic than official, carries the idea of revitalizing the village of Saint-Justin, of making people talk about it and the people who live there.
