LoOne of the most mysterious archaeological sites in China is the tomb of Qin Shi Huang in Shaanxi, China. It is located in Shaanxi, northwest China. The biggest wonder here is the thousands of terracotta statues representing the army of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China. These statues were buried to guard the afterlife of the emperor who died in 210 BC. As it is a highly protected area, it is impossible for tourists to enter near the mausoleum.

Atop a hill in central China, this tomb, which lay undiscovered for 2,000 years, holds many undiscovered mysteries. Qin Shi Huang, who was the first to rule unified China after conquering all the six kingdoms that existed at that time, died in 210 BC. After his death, one of the most luxurious and mysterious tombs in the world was prepared for him. Quinn, who believed in the afterlife, had ordered the whole country’s model to be buried with gravestones so that he could live comfortably after his death. Qin Shi Huang’s statue army consisted of 8000 soldiers, 130 chariots, 500 horses and 150 infantry. This army guards the king. Statues of kings and artists were also found in this 38 square mile tomb.

In 1974, farmers who were digging a well near Xi’an in Shaanxi discovered this tomb, which shocked the world. At first one or two clay figurines were found, then thousands were found. What is most interesting is that each clay figurine has individual characteristics. There are changes in the shape and splendor of the statue starting from the foot soldiers and reaching the commander. Even the clothes, hair and facial expressions of the idols are different. They are built in the Greek architectural style. A small version of the empire has been selected here, including the entrance gates, royal palaces, gardens and so on. The roof of the tomb is covered with gold and silver.

Mining has been going on here for the last forty years. Until recently, many priceless structures have been found here. It is estimated that the mining here will not be completed in the near future. The area where Qin Shi Huang’s tomb is located has not yet been fully excavated. Scientists are still trying to understand how such a large army of clay was created. The Chinese government is conducting a scientific excavation in a timely manner without causing any damage to the tomb. Archaeologists from all over the world believe that there will be more shocking discoveries from here.
