(CNN) – US President Joe Biden said on Friday that the US and British strikes once morest Houthi targets in Yemen are “a direct response to their unprecedented attacks once morest international naval ships in the Red Sea.”
Biden added, in a statement, that he “will not hesitate to direct further measures to protect our people and the free flow of international trade as necessary.”
He continued: “These strikes are a clear message that the United States and our partners will not tolerate attacks on our personnel or allow hostile parties to jeopardize freedom of navigation on one of the most important trade routes in the world.”
He stated, “The American forces, in cooperation with the United Kingdom and with the support of Australia, Bahrain, Canada, and the Netherlands, carried out these successful strikes once morest a number of targets in Yemen that are used by the Houthi rebels to endanger freedom of navigation.”
