WASHINGTON, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) — CNN said in a recent report, citing a new survey released last week, that consumer confidence in the US economy has waned despite falling inflation.
The Conference Board’s consumer confidence index came in at 107.1 in January, lower than the upwardly revised 109 in December 2022 and lower than economists’ expectations, according to data released earlier by the organization.
Although American consumers seemed to be feeling better regarding the current economic and labor market conditions, their confidence waned about what will happen in the next six months, the network quoted Ataman Özeldirim, senior director of economics at The Conference Board.
