US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced on the 25th that he will run for the midterm elections from the constituency in the San Francisco area of California. Mr Pelosi had previously suggested that this would be his last term as Democratic House leader.
In a video released by the camp, Mr. Pelosi listed “justice for immigrants” and education and housing-related issues as unfinished work. “We have made progress, but we need to do more to improve people’s lives,” he said. This fall’s midterm elections are “extremely important. Our democracy is at stake.” Said.
Pelosi, 81, has been a member of the House of Representatives since 1987. The announcement to run is likely to put off the curtain on his pioneering career as a politician, who will be the first female chairman of the US House of Representatives.
When asked if he would aim for a chairmanship or a leadership position in the Democratic Party’s executive board in the case of re-election, Mr. Pelosi’s spokesman Hamil said, “The chairman has a duty.”
