USA 2024: Eight months to the vote, the steps towards election day – Indices

After Super Tuesday there are two crucial dates in the American electoral calendar eight months after the November 5th vote: March 12th and 19th. In fact, in one of these two days, Donald Trump could mathematically win the Republican nomination. The other date to keep an eye on is March 25, when he will begin the tycoon’s trial for the money paid to Stormy Daniels, the first of at least three other proceedings that could begin between now and election day.

Below are the main stages of the 2024 marathon up to the vote.

* 12 MARZO – Voting in the presidential primaries in Georgia, Hawaii, Mississippi and Washington. Donald Trump’s first chance to mathematically win the delegates needed to obtain the Republican nomination.

* 19 MARZO – It’s the turn of the presidential primaries in Florida, Arizona, Kansas, Illinois and Ohio. Trump’s second chance to get the nomination before the July convention.

* 25 MARZO– The trial of the tycoon for the money of Stormy Daniels begins.

* 2 APRIL – The voters of New York and Wisconsin, along with 5 other states, are voting.

* 22 APRIL – The Supreme Court begins the examination of the presidential immunity requested by the tycoon

* APRIL 23 – Vote for the swing state of Pennsylvania.

* JUNE 4 – The most important primaries close with the last votes in Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, South Dakota and Washington.

* 15-18 JULY – The Republican convention is held in Milwaukee, called to certify who will be the party’s official candidate.

* 19-22 AUGUST – Chicago, Barack Obama’s city, hosts the Democratic convention.

* SEPTEMBER 16 – The first debate between the presidential candidates is held at Texas State University.

* SEPTEMBER 25 – Vice presidential candidates compete at Lafayette College, Pennsylvania.

* 1ST OCTOBER – Second debate between the presidential candidates.

* 9 OCTOBER – Third comparison between the aspirants to the White House.

* NOVEMBER 5 – It’s Election Day, America goes to the vote.

* 20 JANUARY 2025 – It’s Inauguration Day, the new president is taking office.
