According to the USA, Russian soldiers are apparently executed by the Russian military if they disobey orders. “We have information that the Russian military has actually executed soldiers who refused to follow orders,” National Security Council communications director John Kirby told reporters on Thursday (local time). “Russian commanders even threatened to kill entire units if they attempted to retreat from Ukrainian artillery fire,” Kirby continued.
