Perhaps one of the most awaited features by app users Maps (Maps)yes Apple be the possibility of creating custom routes — already present in competing applications, such as Google Maps —, which could appear soon.
This is what a code called "CustomRouteCreation"which was sent by Apple to the backend of the application. Discovered by user Nicolas Alvarez [@nicolas09F9]the file would be Apple’s preparation for a future release — who knows, in the future iOS 18.
If it works in a similar way to what already exists in other applications, personalized routes will allow users to manually define which routes they want to take — an additional option compared to the automatic (and often unsatisfactory) definition of the app.
The possibility is based exclusively on the file name, and there are no further details related to the operation of the resource itself — although it is clear that it should be made available (at least initially) just us United States.
