HEALTH. The vaccination campaign against respiratory infections, such as influenza and COVID-19, will begin on October 10 in the greater Estrie region, announced the CIUSSS de l’Estrie – CHUS.
This year, the targeted clienteles are people aged 60 and over, people who are immunocompromised, on dialysis or living with a chronic illness, pregnant women, people residing in CHSLDs or private seniors’ residences or living in other environments. collectives with a high proportion of seniors, people who work with children under six months of age, health care workers as well as adults living in remote or isolated areas.
The new COVID-19 vaccine will provide immunity against currently circulating variants, including the Omicron XBB1.5 sub-variant, authorities note.
It is possible to receive both vaccines at the same appointment. People who are not part of the targeted clientele will also be able to receive these vaccines free of charge.
