Last October, Valeria Gordeev won the “Floriana” literary prize in St. Florian – for her novel “The cicada slips out of its shiny golden shell”. The 36-year-old from Tübingen has also been a Bachmann Prize winner since yesterday. “I’m still a stranger to the title. But that’s the way it is now. It’s a great honor, a great pleasure,” said Gordeev following her victory at the 47th Days of German-language Literature in Klagenfurt.
