Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo) finished the final of the 2022 F1 Belgian Grand Prix with 0 laps retired.

Valtteri Bottas turned 33 on Sunday, August 28th, the day of the final. Valtteri Bottas, who started from the 13th grid due to a penalty, could not avoid the spinning Nicholas Latifi (Williams) and was contacted and spun. He was unable to get out of the gravel and retired.

“Today we had the pace and the grid was messed up so we could have had a chance to get a good result so it’s disappointing to end the race early,” commented Valtteri Bottas.

“It was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I saw Latifi spinning to the left and all I could do was take evasive action to avoid a collision.”

“Unfortunately I spun on the grass and got stuck in the gravel. I tried to move back and forth but I couldn’t.”

“It’s not the birthday present I was hoping for, but I want to have some fun tonight before I focus on next week.”
