On Wednesday in Alpbach, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen spoke out in favor of Austria’s participation in the European missile defense system called “Sky Shield” for the first time and without reservation. This project, initiated by Germany, is to be built up over the coming years as a pillar of joint defense by a good dozen EU countries. It is also open to neutral states.
