Inter Milan reaches 13 years after the Champions League triumph about FC Bayern back to the European football crown. Thanks to a semi-final win in the “Derby della Madonnina” over city rivals AC Milan, the ripped-off Nerazzurri stormed into the final in Istanbul.

The reason for this is a scene after the break. Inter’s Francesco Acerbi deliberately stepped on the foot of Milan’s Sandro Tonali in the 52nd minute. He fell to the ground, the referee decided it was a foul, but the VAR did not intervene. Too little for many Milan fans who called for red – not entirely wrong.
Urs Meier, referee expert at blue, said about this scene: “A red card has already been shown here. Especially when the score was 0-0, a dismissal could have had a big impact.” Ciriaco Sforza joined the ex-referee and asked: “Why isn’t there an intervention here?” Meier had no answer: “I don’t understand that either. The VAR should have intervened.”
Thomas Tuchel has already criticized the referee
It is not the first time that Turpin has been criticized. After the quarter-final second leg in the premier class between Bayern and Manchester City, Munich coach Thomas Tuchel in particular criticized the referee severely. “Six marks from the first minute, from the first decision,” said the coach after the game.
