The Greek national team did not manage to qualify for the final phase of EURO 2024, as they were eliminated on penalties (0-0 away, 4-2 penalty) by Georgia. Our representative group wanted it very much but fate had a not-so-pleasant surprise in store for it. The sadness, the heartache, the bitterness, the tears are logical to be there because we were closer than ever to returning to the finals of a major event.
Greece failed to qualify for Euro 2024, but achieved something it had been doing for several years. She brought the world back to her side. The Greek fans are back at the stadium to support their beloved National Team. Anxiety once again grips all Greeks, as the whole country once again lives and breathes with the National Team. This is the profit for the “blue and white” set.
In the match against Georgia it just wasn’t our moment, now we have to look strong to be even more ready for the future. Greece has a soul and the only thing certain is that it will return to where it truly deserves. Unfortunately, the match went to penalties and that means that the luckiest one deserves. This is the football we love. That hard work of the last few years will pay off. The Greek national team has found its way, it just needs to reach its destination. At this point where we are, patience and correct moves are needed, so that the effort that has been made is not dissolved. It’s a shame that a great event was literally lost through our hands but there will be other opportunities that we have to take advantage of. The beloved of all Greeks is back and will show us the metal she has. The “family” of our national team will return to success with the support of all of us by its side.
