The VAT refund will continue to be paid in Colombia during the month of April in order to financially support the poorest households in the country during the COVID-19 pandemic. With this program, promoted by the National Government through the Department of Social Prosperity, it is sought that vulnerable families receive resources that alleviate the impact of the tax levied on the consumption of products and services.
For 2022, the State allocated 177,000 million that will be sent to the 2 million beneficiary families throughout the year. The payment that corresponds to $80,000 is consigned every two months, so, taking into account that the first payment of 2022 was made on February 19, it will be made again in April.
Some beneficiaries of the subsidy did not manage to claim the money from the first payment, these monies will not be lost, but they will have to wait until the next transfer to withdraw both the $80,000 for February and the $80,000 corresponding to the new payment.
When do they pay the VAT Refund in Colombia during April?
The VAT Refund is made bimonthly. Thus, since the first payment for 2022 was made in February, the next payment cycle should be made this April. So far the Social Prosperity Department has not announced the exact date.

The Department of Social Prosperity has already completed the first delivery period of the year of the VAT Refund subsidy, taking into account that the term defined by the entity to collect the first payment cycle of 2022 was from February 19 to the past 5 of March.
