“The cairn is a landmark to guide mountain hikers,” says Saype. “It’s a creation with natural elements that echo my land art work. I like the poetry of these places perched in the mountains, where the work completely interacts with its environment,” he says. The project was sponsored by the Villars Tourist Office.
Renowned artist of street and land art, inventor of biodegradable paint, Saype, whose real name is Guillaume Legros, was born in Belfort (F) in 1989. He is already at the origin of poetic and ephemeral works in the Champ-de -Mars in Paris, Cape Town in South Africa, Benin or Istanbul.
He has also worked several times in Switzerland, notably in Geneva, Moléson, Leysin and Château d’Oex. He creates his frescoes on grass, earth, sand and snow.
