Company AvtoVAZ repeatedly during 2022 announced its large-scale development plans. According to the announced information, the Togliatti automobile plant intends to sharply increase production volumes. In particular, the annual production should reach 400 thousand cars. However, current sales indicate that AvtoVAZ will not be able to achieve the stated result: Frets are not bought in such quantities. That is, in order to achieve this goal, the Togliatti Automobile Plant needs to both expand its model range and reduce car prices. Moreover, the best option would be the implementation of both tasks.
This can be quickly achieved only if one of the models that AvtoVAZ produced earlier is revived. The domestic designer showed a similar car on his renderings. He published images of the revived VAZ-2110 2022-2023, the appearance of which was redesigned. This car is quite consistent with the stated purpose. Having revived the Ten, AvtoVAZ will have at its disposal an inexpensive model, the development of which will not take much time. Also, this sedan is important for the rapid achievement of another goal.
The fact is that AvtoVAZ is not yet able to eliminate the shortage of components. The company has promised that it will only start installing ABS on its vehicles by May 2023. But the VAZ-2110 is a simple model. That is, it will be deprived of on-board electronics, the shortage of which is experienced by AvtoVAZ. Therefore, the production of the VAZ-2110 will not stop even if the company once again encounters shortages of components. As a result, it turns out that by returning the “Ten” to the market, the Togliatti Automobile Plant immediately solves a set of problems, not to mention the fact that this car is capable of bringing good profit in a short time.
The revived VAZ-2110 will cost about 500-550 thousand rubles. This price is adequate, given that the car will be easier Lada Granta. However, both models will be largely similar to each other. In particular, they must share the technical part. But Granta equipment will surpass the new VAZ-2110. The revived Ten will receive only ESP and ABS (after AvtoVAZ arranges uninterrupted supplies of these systems) and 2 airbags. The Togliatti Automobile Plant will not prepare other options for its novelty.
Design
The new “Ten” will largely copy its predecessor. The absence of large-scale changes in the configuration of the model can be explained by the fact that with this approach, AvtoVAZ minimizes the cost of developing a car and speeds up its entry into the market. In addition, this will reduce the price of a sedan, which is relevant for the Lada-2110 2022-2023, given that it will be an entry-level car.
In this regard, it is likely that the new “Ten” in size will be almost identical to its predecessor. The side of the body will also remain unchanged. The developer has kept the flat panels and narrow wheel arches here, which makes the car look squat. The roofline, like the A-pillars and C-pillars, has the same slope as its predecessor. That is, the general shape of the body of the new “Tens” has not changed.
But the front part of the presented model was quite deeply redesigned. A new optics has appeared here, which is distinguished by its large size. It is possible that LED headlights will be offered as an option with the presented “Ten”. Their production has already been established in Russia, so AvtoVAZ can arrange uninterrupted supplies of head optics. The radiator grille of the presented “Tens” is also new. It features a polygonal configuration and is complemented by protruding horizontal slats.
An important feature of the new VAZ-2110 was the front bumper. Most of its area is occupied by a curved cutout, in which the developer has built a compact air intake and a wide plastic trim with fog lights. This design solution simultaneously makes the car modern and sporty. At the same time, the new “Ten” cannot be called a dynamic sedan.
The sporty style partly emphasizes the design of the stern. A developed spoiler is fixed on the flat luggage compartment door of the VAZ-2110 2022-2023, which AvtoVAZ previously used on some of its models. The rear optics of the novelty also turned out to be relatively large. But by default it will be filled with halogen lights. Half of the aft bumper is occupied by a plastic overlay, from the bottom of which thin cutouts for the exhaust pipes are visible.
Interior design is likely to be simple. Most likely, inside the developers will use cheap plastic and install seats with fabric covering. But in order to increase the attractiveness of the car, its “torpedo” will be completely redesigned.
Specifications
As noted, the Lada-2110 2022-2023 engine range will be shared with Lada Granta. But the question remains what type of 1.6-liter engine the new sedan will get. It is more likely that AvtoVAZ will equip it with a unit with a return of 90 hp. Such a motor is used on the current Grant. However, it cannot be ruled out that in order to separate models and reduce prices, the Togliatti Automobile Plant will install an 87-horsepower engine on the VAZ-2110. This motor was also previously used on the Grant.
Regardless of the type of unit chosen, the VAZ-2110 will always be equipped with a manual transmission. Moreover, this model will not receive an automatic transmission even if AvtoVAZ organizes its production.
Start of sales
The AvtoVAZ company is now cautiously talking about its future innovations. In particular, she does not disclose their names. But if we take into account the timing of the implementation of the plan stated above, then we can assume that the revived VAZ-2110 will debut during 2023. If the company delays with the release of this or a similar machine, then it will not be able to bring production volumes up to the declared figure. However, it should be noted that the renders presented may not reflect the model that AvtoVAZ will begin to develop.
