Venezuelan journalist Adriana González denounces xenophobic aggression in Spain

The journalist Adriana González, an emigrant since 2014 in Spain, was insulted and beaten on the night of February 26victim of the xenophobia that has persecuted Venezuelans around the world in recent years.

«Two drunk drivers were coming from the opposite direction in the lane in which I must drive and they hit me head-on. When I got out of the car, they realized that I was Latina and, well, this has made them livid with rage,” said Adriana González, who in Venezuela was a professor of Graphic Design at the Central University of Venezuela.

González explained how the attack was: «I have been thrown on the ground, I have been hit, scratched and bitten. I have as a result a rectification of the cervical lordosis, bites and an edema in the back of my head, an ankle sprain.

The insults once morest Adriana González Gil, as heard in the video broadcast on social networks, because in her capacity as a journalist and citizen she documented them: “You are a Machupichu, retarded, indigenous… garbage, your ancestors eat rice, you are worthless,” in addition to the vulgar words that characterize insults and that denigrate human dignity.

Adrián, Adriana’s partner in the vehicle, was also victim of aggressions, by these two women in Rojales, Alicante.

On her Instagram account, Adriana González writes: “I am proudly Latina, Venezuelan and also Spanish, because here in Spain I have worked and my training has continued.”
