Diosdado Cabello’s desperate attempt to prevent the Opposition Primaries

The regime has used all the machinery of the PSUV to stop the elections in which María Corina Machado is a favorite

The primary elections that the vast majority of the Venezuelan Opposition is carrying out this Sunday, represent a spectacular defeat for the Venezuelan regime, specifically for the number two in power in Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello Rondón who is the Vice President of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela ( PSUV). From the El Mazo program that he hosts, in the press conferences of the Government party, as well as in messages through social networks, he has been the main detractor of the electoral initiative of those who will choose a candidate to confront the power of the ruling party. The elections alone worry him, but even more so the candidacy of María Corina Machado, who has said that she intends to go “to the end” and nothing seems to stop her.

David Smolansky, coordinator of the movement of Venezuelans abroad of María Corina Machado’s command, shared videos of the start of the vote on his social networks. Furthermore, he invited his compatriots who are outside Venezuela to make themselves felt and legitimize a leadership committed to democracy and freedom.

“If there is a moment in which the voice of the diaspora can be heard, it is now. I invite us to make ourselves heard, to exercise our right and to legitimize a leadership that is truly committed to democracy and freedom,” said Smolansky.

The opposition primary is held in 77 cities in 28 countries, where 396,818 Venezuelan voters are registered. To participate, you only need a valid or expired ID card or passport.

Came the day. This Sunday, Venezuelans will have the possibility of choosing the candidate who will be able to face Nicolás Maduro at the polls next year or the candidate that the regime has. That, of course, if the negotiations that are progressing in parallel at this time are confirmed so that for the first time in more than a decade the Chavista dictatorship is exposed to democratic elections without proscriptions.
