Jonathan Griman, an 18-year-old power forward born in Caracas, was selected as a prospect for the NBA Academydevelopment program from the best league in the world to boost youth talent in North American basketball.

Griman was born in Caracas in August 2004 and, from the age of 10, he became interested in basketball due to the influence of his father, Ronald Griman, who played with Caracas Crocodiles. His first team was the minors of the Central University of Venezuela and, later, he played at the Liceo Caracas until the fifth year of Baccalaureate, when he joined the academy of Capital District Spartans due to lack of coaches in the team of his house of studies.

Before coming of age, he was selected to be part of the Venezuelan basketball team that would say present at the FIBA U-18 South American Championship, where the “Vinotinto de las Alturas” would get the fifth place. Griman accumulated 125 minutes in the tournament and scored 32 baskets (4 of them were from outside the line of three and 11 from free throws), had 39 rebounds and 16 blocks.
