The authorities of the Venezuelan State are still waiting for the Caricom statement regarding the plot between Guyana and Exxom Mobil

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, rejected the “interference statement” issued by the Caribbean Community (Caricom), where opinions are expressed on the Organic Law for the Defense of Guayana Esequiba.

Through a statement, the Venezuelan Government highlights that the National Assembly (AN) in its exclusive powers fulfills a sovereign mandate approved in the Consultative Referendum that was held on December 3 in the country.

In this sense, the parliamentarians of the Legislative Branch debated and approved “a law that contemplates legitimate actions to ensure national sovereignty, in strict respect of the commitments assumed with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana for the management of the territorial controversy over Guyana Essequiba” .

At the same time, the authorities of the Venezuelan State are still waiting for the Caricom statement regarding the plot between Guyana, the American company Exxon Mobil and the United States Government to ignore the Geneva Agreement, as the only mechanism to resolve the territorial controversy, with a political and peaceful solution.

“Venezuela makes a special call to Caricom not to replicate its position on the territorial controversy between Guyana and Venezuela, its weak positions on relevant issues, such as the situation in the Republic of Haiti (…),” the text highlighted. .
