The Ñuble Region will once again host, for the third consecutive year, the 25th version of the Copec Rally Mobil, the most important automobile event in Chile, when on April 26, 27 and 28, in Chillán and Chillán Viejo, the the first date of the 2024 National Championship calendar.
“The Mobile Rally allows us to show Ñuble to the world and its routes. Also economically activate the region, because commerce grows during these dates. The investment made is taxed on these benefits that are a priority for the region. A sustainable economy and sports circuit has been generated that has been valuable for the Ñuble Region,” said Governor Óscar Crisóstomo, at the official launch of the event.
The head of Sports of the Municipality of Chillán Viejo, Miguel Silva, representing Mayor Jorge del Pozo, highlighted that “Chillán Viejo breaks the mold, because for the first time a service park is installed in the Plaza de Armas, to show this festival in all its dimension, with the cars and the drivers, a show that is offered to the community, because it is not just sport, but a pole of tourist development since we will have more than 180 entrepreneurs in the Monumental Park.”
“On behalf of Mayor Camilo Benavente, I want to applaud this virtuous alliance, because since 2021, to date, the circuits in this rally have been strengthened and a virtuous circuit has been generated. We invite all Chillán and Ñuble civil society to come and enjoy the Protocol Start that will be on April 26 in front of the Municipality of Chillán and the Regional Government,” highlighted Hernán Blasco, sports advisor of the Chillán municipality.
Several of the routes where the competing drivers will accelerate are part of the San Nicolás commune. That is why the mayor of this commune, Víctor Hugo Rice, applauded that the event returns to his land.
“The rural people of my land enjoyed it last year and now everyone wants the rally to return. These activities must be promoted because our inhabitants have few options to enjoy these events,” she stressed.
The deputy commissioner of Carabineros of Ñuble, Captain Cristopher Muñoz, assured that more than 100 Carabineros will deploy “an operational service so that the activity is carried out under complete safety and so that there are no accidents.”
The general producer of the Copec Rally Mobil, Felipe Horta, said he was excited to reach version 25, and thanked the Carabineros, the Regional Government and the municipalities of Chillán, Chillán Viejo and San Nicolás for the support.
“Ñuble has the best roads in the world for rallying. The party begins on Friday the 26th at 7:00 p.m. with the protocol start at the front of the Regional Government in Chillán and on the 27th and 28th the base of the service park will be in the Plaza de Armas of Chillán Viejo so that the community can enjoy this motorsport festival.”
