The Dental Department, represented by the Specialized Dental Center and the Dental Department of Primary Health Care Centers, held the Gulf Week Festival in the Rames project in the center of Awamiya to promote oral and dental health 2023, under the slogan My Health Starts from My Mouth.
The festival started today, Monday, March 13, and will continue until Friday, March 17, 2023, with a duration of 6 hours per day.
The activities start over the specified days from 4 pm until 10 pm, and the festival will be officially launched tomorrow, Tuesday, March 14, by the head of operation of the Qatif Health Network, Dr. Riyad Al-Mousa.
Gulf Week Festival
Oral and dental health specialist, coordinator of the Gulf Week Festival for Promoting Oral and Dental Health, Dr. Amal Al-Gharab, confirmed that the aim of the festival is to promote oral and dental health for community members, by raising awareness of the importance and how to take care of oral and dental health.
Al-Ghurab indicated that the festival consists of 9 pillars. Dental history, food, virtual clinic and referral mechanism, smoking and early detection of oral cancer, oral and dental health care, medical consultations, mobile clinic and preventive measures, injuries, and children’s corner.
She pointed out that the number of participating health cadres reached 51, and the number of volunteers reached more than 20.
