In a quick action, a subject stole a cell phone from an optician located on Calle Alvear 343, in the city of Córdoba. It happened last Tuesday at siesta.
The event was detected by the security cameras of the premises and, after noticing what happened, those responsible for the premises decided to viralize the images. The footage shows that person entering the business and seeing some sunglasses with the excuse that he had to give his younger brother a birthday present.
“Hello, how are you doing? I’m looking for sunglasses for a 15-year-old brother. Any good,” he tells the woman who served him.
While the merchant was showing him different models, the video shows how the alleged client approaches the counter and looks to find out what is behind it. Then, he takes two pairs of glasses that he measures himself in front of a mirror and even jokes.
At one point he decides and asks to know the prices.
Distraction and cell phone theft
That’s when the woman gets in front of the computer to find the cost of the requested merchandise.
The images show this man moving around the premises and again looking behind the counter until he sees the cell phone. In the blink of an eye, he ended up taking it with one hand, taking advantage of the employee’s distraction.
After that, he is informed about the prices of the chosen models and takes out his wallet as if showing the bills: “I’ll be back later because I didn’t arrive with the money, I’ll go to the ATM,” he said and left.
From the business they indicated to The voice that a month ago they robbed him after breaking a window and that two weeks ago they tried to force the lock on his door.
Regarding the subject, he was not arrested.
It is not ruled out that he is behind other cell phone thefts in businesses in the area.
