The Viennese start-up Happy Plates has acquired the online recipe site ichkoche.at from the Styria Media Group. The sale to the recipe site with a connection to online shops from supermarkets took place at the beginning of 2023, as the Styria Group confirmed to APA. The “Trending Topics” platform reported that the parties had agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The Styria Media Group already discontinued the two lifestyle magazines “Wienerin” and “Diva” in 2022.

“We want to get the brand and strengthen it throughout the German-speaking area,” said Happy Plates Managing Director Simon Jacko. However, ichkoche.at needs to be modernized visually and technically. The integration of a “buy” button on ichkoche.at is almost complete, and soon you will be able to order the ingredients for the recipes directly online from the supermarkets.

On the recipe page of the Happy Plates start-up, which was founded in 2018, users can already order the ingredients for the recipes in the online shops of Rewe, Spar or gurkerl.at. With the HappyCart brand, Happy Plates also offers this service to other website operators. Happy Plates then receives a brokerage commission from the supermarkets for the orders. “It comes down to , but nicer than you often see on these big publisher sites,” said Jacko.
