The new film tells the story of the infamous Newsnight interview which, in 2019, saw the royal family try to distance themselves from convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

There are plenty of talking points in the film – including a scene depicting the tower of bears where Prince Andrew reportedly tidies up in his Buckingham Palace bed – but viewers agree that one part of the film in particular could have been left out.

The said scene according to Independent it comes after the Newsnight interview, given by Maitlis (Gillian Anderson), is set to air on BBC Two.

In the scene in question we watch Prince Andrew watching his interview as he decides to take a bath. The prince tries to relax, but his cell phone rings repeatedly in the other room. Exiting the bathroom, the camera then pans to his bare bottom from behind.

“Did we really need to see Prince Andrew naked?” many viewers asked, with journalist Rob Lownie adding: ‘Rufus Sewell is really good. Showing Prince Andrew’s bum is very unnecessary.’

Scoop is now available on Netflix. The film is based on a memoir by Sam McAlister, the former Newsnight producer who closed the interview with Prince Andrew.
