Kochi: The arrest warrant of Vijay Babu, the accused in the case of molesting a newcomer actress, has been handed over to the Dubai Police. The newcomer had lodged a complaint with the police on the 22nd. According to the team, the accused and producer Vijay Babu first went to Goa and from there to Dubai via Bengaluru.
Vijay told the Kochi City Police that he was on a business tour and would be present on the 19th of this month. Vijay asked for more time in response to a notice issued by the police asking him to surrender as soon as possible. Vijay Babu’s anticipatory bail application will be considered by the high court on the 18th of this month.
The probe team has received information that the accused Vijay Babu, who is absconding abroad and delaying his arrest, is trying to influence the complainant and those who are likely to testify against him in the case. It is in this context that efforts are being made to repatriate Vijay Babu with the help of Interpol and the Dubai Police.
