– Villa Bernasconi in the running for a museum prize
The Lancet institution was selected, along with three other Swiss institutions, for the 2024 European Museum Prize.

Villa Bernasconi, located in Grand-Lancy, is the property of the municipality of Lancy which operates it as a cultural venue.

The art center of the City of Lancy is one of the four Swiss museums nominated for the 2024 European Museum Prize. In addition to the Villa Bernasconi, the three other Swiss institutions selected for this award, which will be awarded on May 4, 2024 in Portugal, are the Museum Schloss Burgdorf, the Center Dürrenmatt Neuchâtel and the Klosterhalbinsel Wettingen.
Establishments that have opened their doors or been significantly renovated in the last three years can apply for the European Museum Prize – the Villa Bernasconi underwent a complete facelift between 2019 and 2021. According to the press release published on the website of the a flagship building of Lancen culture, “the competition assesses the public attractiveness of participating establishments and aims to improve the quality of the European museum landscape”.
