Marseille continued to try to come back, but their efforts were in vain as Villarreal sealed the victory with a goal from J. Mosquera in the 86th minute. Despite the fact that Marseille managed to come back thanks to a goal from J. Clauss in the last minute of the match, it was Villarreal who won with a score of 3:1.
