A former municipal employee entered the town hall of Villefranche-de-Conflent this Friday, August 26. He locked himself in it in order to demand an examination of his personal situation.
An important gendarmerie device has been in place since 10:30 a.m. this Friday, August 26 in front of the town hall of Villefranche-de-Conflent. And for good reason, an individual, a former municipal employee, considering himself unfairly sidelined, locked himself in the town hall by barricading the entrance doors.
Thanks to talks, two town hall secretaries were able to leave the premises, and discussions are underway to make the madman listen to reason.
According to the mayor of the town, Patrick Lecroq, who has called an extraordinary meeting for this evening so that the former municipal employee can debate with the elected officials, and who is currently going to the scene, “This is an old dispute that has dragged on since 2013. It has escalated lately although attempts have been made to resolve this situation since the new council took office in June 2020”.
