A fight in a squat in Vilvoorde claimed one victim on Monday, Mayor Hans Bonte (Vooruit) reported on Tuesday, confirming information from Laatste Nieuws and Nieuwsblad. Fourteen people were arrested.
The facts took place late Monday followingnoon, in a squat located Kolveniersstraat in Vilvoorde. Warned by local residents, the police arrested 14 people who were in possession of knives and sticks. The police also discovered a deceased person in the squat.
According to the mayor, several individuals arrested are well known to the police.
The building where the facts took place belongs to the Catholic Education of Vilvoorde, which had bought it to develop the college.
