Actor Vishnu Unnikrishnan talks about getting injured during the shooting of the movie Streetlights and how he was able to do a movie with Dulquer as the hero. Vishnu was speaking in an interview given to Mirchi Malayalam.
‘On the second day after the shooting of Streetlights started, I injured my hand. He went to the hospital and took x-rays. The doctor initially said it was a small fracture. I was relieved when I heard that.
I asked the doctor if I would have to put a plaster. Then the doctor replied, ‘Plaster, steel will have to be put in anyway’. He said that it will take three months for the hand to recover.
I started crying after hearing that. There was a lot of pain, including this one. The shooting of that film had just started.
Streetlights was the directorial debut of Shyamatan (Shyamdutt). Shyamattan was Kattapana’s cameraman. Mammooka is producing and acting. I have to act in the same movie.
I’m so upset. After hearing the information, Mammooka stopped the shooting and came to see me. Come on, never mind. Mammooka calmed down by saying that we can look for something else.
To be honest, I am a person who believes that everything happens for good, even if it is bad at the time.
Later I realized that this injury was for good. My hand had no movement then. The radial nerve was pinched. That said it will take time to get right.
One such time, when Anto Chetan (producer Anto Joseph) came to my house to meet me, he told me that the script of the Dulquer film that was to be done had changed and was not finalized.
Then I said that we have planned a plot for a film with Dulquer. Anto Chetan said if it is written quickly then we can shoot it in September.
Just then I called Bibin and told him about it. A film that has done so is a Yamadan love story. Because that happened to me that day, we were able to do a film with Dulquer,’ said Vishnu Unnikrishnan.
