Vision Pro: Apple would have found the parade against feelings of nausea

If you’ve ever used a mixed reality headset, you’ve probably felt discomfort, even bordering on nausea. Fortunately, Apple seems to have found a solution.

This is an effect that manufacturers of virtual reality headsets fail to counter. Motion-sickness, or more commonly known as motion sickness, occurs when our body is moving and we are focused on a fixed element, such as when we are reading a book in the car, or when we are not moving and our mind is immersed in a mobile environment, like a VR/AR headset.

But on the side of Apple, it seems that we have found a solution to this phenomenon, as reported 9To5Mac. By combining high resolution screens with the ultra-low 12 millisecond latency enabled by the R1 chip, Apple seriously minimizes the risk of nausea. The Cupertino company has also provided guidelines for developers to allow them to avoid “the overwhelming movements”.

Another phenomenon put forward by Apple is the VAC (vergence-accommodation conflict), meaning by this a discomfort caused by the distance of a virtual object, apparently very far but obviously close, since on the screens. A patent recently filed by Apple explains how to deal with it, by combining screens and lenses in order to change the perception of images.
