During his visit, the Ambassador toured the school premises and discussed with students of the 2nd Lyceum.
The children had the opportunity to talk with a distinguished diplomat of the European political scene and an excellent connoisseur of modern Greek reality and Greek history and language, as he knows both ancient and modern Greek. Mr. Kindl spoke to the students about his experiences, his love for ancient Greek philosophy and Aristotle, the challenges he faces every day handling difficult political issues, but also the perspectives and satisfaction that his position offers him. The children shared with him questions, thoughts and mainly focused on what constitutes their own concerns about Greece, Europe, their future. Issues such as the establishment of private universities, studies in Europe and Greece, the future of the European Union, the position of our country in the world, our relationship with neighboring countries and contemporary social issues, such as immigration, formed the core of children’s dialogue with the Ambassador.
Mr. Kindl closed the discussion with wishes for the students, telling them that common goals, common visions and the coming together of European peoples are important in the future, as we all face the same challenge: To work, to make Europe constantly better .
