According to a study published in the journal Nutrients, vitamin D is involved in the production of serotonin and dopamine, which transmit signals and regulate mood.

In the study, experts indicated that they found a reduced risk of death from all causes with normal vitamin D levels.

Serum vitamin D levels below 20 ng/mL indicate deficiency, and levels between 21 and 29 ng/mL indicate vitamin D deficiency. If a person consumes a dosage of 600-800 IU of the vitamin every day, this will ensure optimal bone health; a dosage above 1000 IU will maintain levels above 30 ng/ml.

Previously, ABN24 reported that a person suffering from diabetes does not have to give up sweet foods.
